Privacy policy
Last updated 5 October 2026
Averiste is in public beta. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect and why. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider).
- Profile details you choose to add: a username, a short bio and an avatar colour.
- Training data: which drills you answer, your answers' scores, your skill ratings, streaks, test results and official exam results.
- Guest progress: if you train without an account, progress is stored only in your own browser.
Why we collect it
To run the service: keep you signed in, save your progress, calculate ratings, and show the weekly league. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
What other people can see
If you appear in the weekly league, other visitors see your display name, username, avatar colour and weekly XP. If your profile is public (the default; you can switch it off), visitors to your profile link also see your bio, level, streak, number of drills completed and any exam reports you've made public. Anyone with a public exam report's verification link can see that report. Your email and individual answers always stay private.
Where it's stored
Account and training data is stored with Supabase in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). The website is hosted by Vercel. Both act as our processors.
Cookies and storage
We use a cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser's local storage for guest progress and small preferences. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your choices
- You can change your name and avatar colour on your profile page.
- You can delete your account at any time from your profile. This permanently erases your account and training data.
- For any other request, such as a copy of your data, email hello@averiste.com.
Age
Averiste is for people aged 16 and over.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and tell signed-in users.
